    Hi.
after updating FireFox to 35.0 ABP doesn’t work anymore. It only appears in the extensions list but doesn’t work at all and doesn’t appear in FireFox bar. I tried to redownload it it gave me this error “Adblock Plus could not be installed because Firefox cannot modify the needed file” Please help.

    Reply from Wladimir Palant:

Sounds like something locked the Adblock Plus package in your Firefox directory. Please try restarting Firefox, and if you still get the same message when installing Adblock Plus then it’s likely caused by some other software like your antivirus. Feel free to come to our forum if this doesn’t help (no registration required), the blog comments are really ill-suited for lengthy conversations.

    Hallo Leute.

    Hello Guys.
I have the same problem as Moe. Adblock Plus works no longer under Firefox 35.0, but only under the JonDo profile. I can not complete this update to Adplock Plus 2.6.7. It is then following message: “Adblock Plus could not be installed, since Firefox can not change the required file”. With the normal Firefox everything works.

    Reply from Wladimir Palant:

When I try JonDoFox, there is a reproducible error after updating Adblock Plus (“Beim Installieren von Adblock Plus ist ein Fehler aufgetreten”). After a restart, Adblock Plus is installed but dysfunctional. This error goes away if some other extension is disabled/enabled. Something seems to be broken in that profile, will try to figure out what exactly.

    Reply from Wladimir Palant:

Turned out, JonDoFox turns off indexedDB (for no good reason from what I can tell), this breaks restartless add-ons. I filed https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1122204 on this. As a workaround, you can go to about:config and turn on dom.indexedDB.enabled preference again.

    Hallo Wladimir,

    Hi Vladimir,
    thanks for the quick help.
For me dom.indexedDB.enabled was false, and in bold. The entry was changed so. I changed it to true and clicked in the Add-ons Manager on “Check for Updates”. Adblock Plus made its update, but also the JonDoFox addon drove an update from 0.6.6.10 to 0.6.6.11. After the restart worked Adblock Plus 2.6.7 and the entry dom.indexedDB.enabled was still true and not fat.
