Changes

  • Removed special handling for $sitekey filter option, handling them the same as the $domain option (issue 433).
  • Generate protocol-agnostic filters when using the “Block element” dialog (issue 704).
  • Fixed an issue with escaping URLs in filters generated by the “Block element” dialog (issue 1393).
  • Fixed an issue causing infinite recursion when blocking <input type=image> elements (issue 1396).
  • Disable “Block element” option on XML pages, where it doesn’t work anyway (issue 1428).

Chrome/Opera-only changes

  • Implemented a workaround for a bug in Chrome 38 and Opera 25, which broke some Flash videos (issue 1372).
  • Removed side-effects introduced by the “Block element” dialog if websites change styles of highlighted elements (issue 1325).

    Will this automatically update?

    Reply from MonztA:

Sure. You can enforce a manual update though:

In Chrome open your extensions page by clicking on Menu -> More Tools -> Extensions or type chrome://extensions/ into the address bar, on the right hand side, click on “Developer Mode” then click on “Update Extensions Now”.

    No update for firefox?

    Reply from Wladimir Palant:

The update for Firefox was delayed by one day because of an issue we discovered in last minute – but it is out as well.

Thanks MonztA for the reply. Does it auto update on Safari too, or just Chrome?

    Reply from Sebastian Noack:

Yes, it is also automatically updated on Safari (unless you have disabled automatic extension updates). However, Safari shows the wrong version number (sometimes) for extensions it has just updated. If in doubt, go to Preferences -> Extensions, make sure automatic updates are enabled, and restart Safari.
