Adblock Plus and (a little) more
Adblock Plus 1.3 for Android released · 2015-03-03 12:30 by René Jeschke
Install Adblock Plus for Android
If you already have Adblock Plus for Android, it should notify you about the update shortly and download it automatically.
We did a lot of under-the-hood changes again, rewrote the way libadblockplus is integrated (#16) and cleaned up the different methods for setting the proxy and deciding which method to use (#547).
Besides that we:
- improved compatibility with Android Lollipop (#1498, #1848)
- reduced the memory usage (#303)
- included twelve new translations
and, of course, fixed a lot of various minor and major issues.
A list of all resolved issues for this release can be found here.

Installed the latest version for Android when it became available on Google Play (3/3/15) and now it doesn’t work.
Localhost 2020 and all previous settings were not changed by me or the installation. Went though the settings and re-entered the information to no avail.
Adblock Plus just sits with the message: Waiting for traffic on port 2020.
Guess I will have to revert to the previous version(s) that have worked daily over the last 3 years.

My bad….
I shut off the phone and then restarted it and Adblock Plus (Newest version) is now working fine.
Sorry to waste your time.

Don’t know if it’s the latest update to ABP or the latest update to Google Play Store, but I now have to disable the ABP proxy on my wifi connection to download apps or get app updates. Web browsing and other apps that access internet through the connection continue to work fine with ABP proxy enabled. Android 5.0.1 on Nexus 5.

Had same problem as G Petersen. Had to uninstall adblock, delete my WiFi network then download and install adblock again, setup WiFi again and it finally states ads are blocked on WiFi. Before no amount of rebooting or deleting WiFi configuration would make a difference, still ‘waiting for traffic on 2020’.
