Adblock Plus and (a little) more

Status Update: 2010-09-24 · 2010-09-24 18:30 by Wladimir Palant

Done

  • Scripts to receive and display issue reports on the server side
  • Made sure links to documentation in Adblock Plus no longer need to be translated — the extension now uses a new entry point on adblockplus.org, the user is redirected to the correct language version if it exists.
  • Updated to Anwiki 0.2.3, will try to stay on stable releases from now on
  • Rewrote subscription list handling on server to use Python instead of Perl

In progress

  • Sending in reports about filter issues — will be in the next development build but more work is necessary.

Next

  • Handle various special cases in the issue reporter (e.g. users without filter subscriptions)
  • Create server script to receive issue reports.

    Hi,

tried to install Adblock Plus in Friefox 3.0.1 and got this error notice:

Firefox could not install the file at

    http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/addons/1865/adblock_plus-1.2.2-fx+sm+tb+fn.xpi

because: Signing could not be verified.

Any idea of a workaround for this?

Thanks for the response but sorry to be a pain; followed your link and fixed the certificate but now I am informed that ADB plus 1.2.2 cannot be installed because it is not comparable with firefox 3.0.1!

    Very frustrating.

I loaded from this site and still the same notice. Any suggestions to fix this are appreciated.

O.K, I managed to get it working by deteating firefox and reenstalling and updated version. The auto update had been greyed out and i just assumed i was using the latest build.

    Thanks very much.

I really like this application. Thanks for all your work.

    Awesome program!

Any way to block slider flash ads by default, + animated gif ads (like on myspace advertising a layout page, etc)?

Also, what about a reset button in case someone just wants to resent Ad Block to default?

This way, people can have an easy way to reset in case of problems!
