I made a mistake when choosing the versioning scheme of Adblock Plus/Chrome development builds, as a result Adblock Plus 1.1 development builds are considered newer than Adblock Plus 1.1.1 builds and Chrome will not update the extension automatically. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there is any solution on my side other than releasing Adblock Plus 1.2 — and we are not there yet. So if you have Adblock Plus 1.1.6xx installed please save your settings, uninstall the development build, then install the current version and restore the settings. I apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Changes

Fixed: When something is blocked it won’t disappear until a refresh (regression in Adblock Plus 1.1)
Options: allowed multiple selection in “Own filters” tab
Added Chrome issue 68705 work-around for Yahoo Mail as well, typing into To field isn’t possible otherwise.

All filters are used for blocking content now, not only filters like “||example.com$third-party”
Grey icon is now being used for websites where Adblock Plus is disabled (forum topic)
Rewritten blocking of video ads on youtube.com to make it more reliable and free of side-effects
Added more websites to the list of WebKit bug 45586 work-arounds
Better filter matching performance
Removed initial hiding of Flash which is no longer necessary
Fixed: Options panel width is sometimes too small, should use the entire window (forum topic)

The current development build (Adblock Plus for Google Chrome 1.0.26.633) is a release candidate, I hope to release Adblock Plus 1.1 early next week. Changes since the previous announcement:

Removed “initial hiding” feature that should be unnecessary now
Improved YouTube video ad blocking which occasionally failed because of timing issues
Fixed hiding of document body backgrounds (regression from “proper blocking” changes, forum topic)
Made options panel wider (forum topic)
Fanboy’s List is now available as a choice in the Options panel

The current development build (Adblock Plus for Google Chrome 1.0.26.622) removes the restriction that only some filters will really block downloads. It should block everything that the previous version was blocking and some more. So if you notice something that is no longer being blocked (as well as other issues of course), please report it with a comment here or in the forum.

The other noticeable change since the previous announcement should be the Adblock Plus icon for websites where Adblock Plus is disabled — a gray icon is being used now. We also added a work-around to prevent breaking FlipViewer Xpress.

The current development build (Adblock Plus for Google Chrome 1.0.26.613) changes the “Block ads inside YouTube videos” feature very significantly. We need your help to ensure that all ads are still being blocked. If you find a video that shows ads when viewed on youtube.com (not via a third-party website, see above), please report it as a comment here or in our forum.

I just created a known issues page for Adblock Plus/Chrome. So far I can think of three main issues that are being raised regularly and that we cannot do much about right now. Does anybody have more?

Changes

Fixed: High memory usage and performance impact on very dynamic websites (particularly Facebook games, forum topic)
Fixed: Blocked stylesheets aren’t being disabled
Worked around WebKit bug 45586 on nubert.de (forum topic)
Fixed: Click-to-hide might add duplicate filters

Note: The change for dynamic sites might mean that you will see ads again on pages that add content dynamically (particularly Google Reader). We were unable to find any scenario where this happens, if you see one however please report it in the forum.
