Note: Adblock Plus is unable to block ads in YouTube videos that are embedded by other websites. This is due to a Google Chrome limitation and unfortunately won’t change until Chrome improves here. This article is about blocking ads in videos that are viewed on youtube.com.
The current development build (Adblock Plus for Google Chrome 1.0.26.613) changes the “Block ads inside YouTube videos” feature very significantly. We need your help to ensure that all ads are still being blocked. If you find a video that shows ads when viewed on youtube.com (not via a third-party website, see above), please report it as a comment here or in our forum.
What changes with the new implementation:
- Better performance, less error-prone
- Videos no longer play automatically when they shouldn’t
- No longer incompatible to Flashblock
