Adblock Plus and (a little) more

Improved handling of objects in Gecko · 2006-06-18 20:33 by Wladimir Palant

Another Gecko bug has been resolved, not quite so recently but still noteworthy: bug 315841. This fixes in particular the bad Java performance Adblock (Plus) users had to endure for years, the browser would always hang until JVM and the applet finished loading. Now finally Gecko is able to load applets asynchronously when a content policy is present — unless Adblock Plus does something stupid which it doesn’t (I am not sure about Adblock however). This change is also trunk-only, meaning that we will see it in Firefox 3.0 and SeaMonkey 1.5.
