I discovered bug 721319 causing memory leaks in most of my restartless extensions. The new release works around the issue now.

Hi Wladimir: I’m a big fan of your addon for almost 5 years, I want still using it. but it’s clearly an issue that I have a problem with.

I’m running FF 9.01 win xp SP3 and my problem is when adblock plus is enable, the memory usage of FF goes up without end sometimes it hit 1,5gb when I have only open one simple website causing at some point I have to close the browser clean all with ccleaner and restart again.
on the task manager we could see how the memory usage goes up very fast, and never goes down as I close some tabs.

I disable ADBP and the problem is gonne. (I use one list in FR and one other SP & Port. ( easy list) and one fanny boy eng.)

I have try the noscript add on as alternative, and when I use it the problem is gone… but I dont like it at all, it demand a lot of intervention and it’s not so automatic like your.

    I use too flashblock 1.5

could you tell me if it’s an issue that you’r working on it?

and when you think it will be repaired?

If you think that could take long time could you recomend me an alternative add on that work in similar way to your to replace it during the time you figure out the issue. please?

Thank you very much , and really want to disable noscript and enable my adbp again

Using an unrelated blog post for this discussion is really not a good idea. As the message above the comment form says, I will remove this comment.

Please create a topic in our forums (registration is not required). I can already say that what you are observing isn’t normal behavior. So far the only thing that is “special” about your setup is Flashblock but it is unlikely to be the cause (still: maybe you want to try disabling it). Please mention your version of Adblock Plus and the web site where you are observing the issue (whether it is “simple” doesn’t matter).
