Hi. silent update works fine but…you have to restart firefox!! otherwise adblock2.1.1 does NOT work (i.e zero elements blocked). so…even with the new silent update I have to restart ff after upgrading adblck.
I hope this willò be fixed ;) thanks.

No, you definitely don’t need to restart Firefox – unless you are affected by https://adblockplus.org/en/known-issues#broken_ui3 or something similar.

Thank you for your reply.
very strange…
I have fanboy english+ italian+tracking list- filters since years. all ok. (I see the screen as it appears here https://adblockplus.org/en/known-issues#broken_ui3 )
adblocj 2.1: ok! (I did restart firefox because I has adb 2.0.4…).ok.
After upgrading from 2.1 to 2.1.1 (no need to restart firefox!) I saw Zero elements blocked!!!
Restarting firefox (one time only) all went fine as in the past.
very odd… confused
thanks.

The link to download adblock plus results in a 404 file not found- not working from firefox add-ons either.
Reply from Wladimir Palant:
That would be an addons.mozilla.org issue – it’s the same link here and on their site. But it works fine for me. So either it’s an issue with one of their mirrors or something on your side prevents you from accessing releases.mozilla.org.

Interestingly enough, after you posted your reply, the link worked fine. But it was not working earlier.
Reply from Wladimir Palant:
Your new download attempt went to a different mirror, one that wasn’t broken. I found the problematic mirror and filed a Mozilla bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=773439

I do not like this blocking. I almost never get what I really want to see. Is there a way to disable it?

I noticed that my adblock was not working for nearly a week now. I decided that I should uninstall the add-on and then reinstall. However, I can not reinstall the app due to the bug that was discussed earlier in these posts. The problem is that I simply can not download the add-on, it keeps redirecting me to the buggy page. How much longer should I wait / are there any alternative sources I could get the add-on?
Reply from Wladimir Palant:
Restarting your browser should do. Or you go to http://mozilla.mirrors.tds.net/pub/mozilla.org/addons/1865/adblock_plus-2.1.1-sm+tb+an+fx.xpi directly (this mirror is working).
