Adblock Plus and (a little) more
Adblock Plus 2.0.1 released · 2011-12-14 11:57 by Wladimir Palant
This release is fixing a few minor issues compared to Adblock Plus 2.0. Main reason for the release is a change to the compatibility information.

Hi Wladimir, is there something I’m doing wrong here. Even after I [unchecked] the “allow non-intrusive ads” some ads are still showing. (These are ads that didn’t appear until adblock-plus updated to 2.0.1.) The site where ads are showing is youtube. I consider the ads in question intrusive for two reasons 1) the ads force you to wait a few seconds before being able to view the video’s content and 2) the ads superimpose themselves on top of the video’s content.
I’m really disappointed in this release and I’m kinda beginning to regret donating to this project. Don’t take this the wrong way, I do like the idea of allowing non-intrusive ads to support startups, I just don’t like it how unchecking that option failed to do anything. Is there something else a user has to do to get the new adblock-plus to behave like the older versions?

Then the “some ads showing” has nothing to do with this feature but rather with the filters you’ve chosen – feel free to ask for help in the forum.

I am really happy the new ABP was released. The most awaited feature for me is certainly the new popup-blocking. Concerning this, I have a question:
I understand that it is possible to block a specific popup from any site. But, is it also possible to block any popup from a specific site? I believe this is the way the popup-blocking addon worked.
If that can be done, could you enlighten me as to how I can accomplish this? If not, maybe you could comment on the idea behind it.

Yes, you need to add the filter “*$domain=example.com,popup” to block all pop-ups from example.com. Feel free to ask in the forum if you need more help.
