A new Adblock Plus 1.1.alpha+ development build (2009042809) has been uploaded.

Changes
- Dropped compatibility with old browsers and cleaned up the code, now requiring at least: Firefox 3.0.9, SeaMonkey 2.0b1, Thunderbird 3.0b3, Songbird 1.1, Prism 1.0
- Added handling of redirects, the redirect address now shows up in “Blockable items” as well and can be blocked
- Started refactoring of browser integration code which runs in its own context now
- Changed the way “add subscription” links work, these can now only be triggered by user clicking a link
- Added diagnostic page displaying all errors related to Adblock Plus:
chrome://adblockplus/content/errors.html - Preferences: “slow filter” warning is now a separate list column which can be used for sorting
- Preferences: “close” button moved to the right side of the filter editor, made the button use Firefox 3 look
- Preferences: improved position calculations for the filter editor, no longer makes the text position change
- Preferences: using browser’s real find bar now instead of faking it
- Fixed: opening Preferences in current Firefox nightlies selects wrong tree row (worked around bug 489881)
- Fixed: detection of background images breaks the context menu in Firefox nightlies
Known issues
- Current Element Hiding Helper version won’t work
- Preferences: Disabled filters are sometimes marked as slow (forum topic)
- Preferences: Hit column is too small by default, contents get cut off (forum topic)

I take it this will fix the NoScript bullshit they are trying to pull?

No, it will not. This is about webpages adding subscriptions – and there you always get a question about whether the subscription should be added. You cannot really protect against an extension however.

If i wanna make sure that none of the malicious code (my word) from no script remains how do i check if thats the case?
I have had no script installed some time ago, and when i open the no script page it tells me i have a old version of no script installed and i should update (Even though i removed no script some time ago), and that makes me think that some part of the addon remains.
I hope you see this message and will be able to help me get peace of mind :)

I don’t know what the page is looking for but it is probably mistaking something else for an old NoScript version (firewall software? JavaScript disabled manually? something else?). I am pretty sure that if NoScript doesn’t show up in your list of add-ons then it is really not installed.

I just had a lookthrough the “About:config” and there was indeed leftovers from no script there, i deleted the entrys now.
I seem to remember reading that no script at some point added a filter in adblock, did i misunderstand that?

The next version removed that filter again. You can check under menu Tools / Adblock Plus Preferences whether you still have a filter group related to NoScript.
