A new development build of the Element Hiding Helper extension (0.9+.2007011100) has been uploaded.

Changes

  • Added preview checkbox to apply current filter on the document
  • Filter rule is applied immediately when it is added
  • Better translation of id and class attribute rules into raw CSS

Known issues

  • Advanced mode: Rows of nodes used in the expression are highlighted with a small but visible delay
  • Wrong tree row selected when switching to advanced mode and some branches are collapsed
  • Frame around inline elements broken into multiple lines has wrong position/size
  • “null has no properties” error in the console when opening composer window (bug 367009)
  • No domain suggestions in basic mode

A new development build of the Element Hiding Helper extension (0.9+.2007010920) has been uploaded.

Changes

  • The commands “view source” and “view source in separate window” are now available when selecting an element
  • Advanced mode: Tree columns id and class now hidden by default to save space

Known issues

  • Non-standard characters in attribute names are not escaped
  • Empty attributes cannot be selected
  • Sometimes selection’s label itself is selected
  • Port number is not removed from the suggested domain name
  • Element selection should not start on file:// URLs (element hiding cannot be applied to those)
  • View source tooltip’s position/size is influenced by other tooltips
  • Wrong tree row selected when switching to advanced mode and some branches are collapsed

A new development build of the Element Hiding Helper extension (0.9+.2007010823) has been uploaded.

Changes

  • Advanced filter composition mode mostly implemented (attributes of parent/sibling nodes can be used, entering custom CSS selector parts is possible)

What needs to be done

  • A way to specify which part of the attribute should be used

Known issues

  • Shortcut key doesn’t work in SeaMonkey
  • It is possible to invoke the “wider” function on the “html” node
  • If a command fails, it triggers find-as-you-type (if enabled)
  • Context menu items are not hidden properly in SeaMonkey
  • Errors when starting EHH during page load
  • Keyboard shortcuts starts EHH even on documents it doesn’t support
  • Advanced mode: Rows of nodes used in the expression are highlighted with a small but visible delay
  • Splitter is broken when switching from basic to advanced view the first time
  • Non-standard characters in attribute names are not escaped

The first development build of the Element Hiding Helper extension (0.9+.2007010800) has been uploaded. This extension is meant to make creating element hiding rules easier, the code to select the element has been adopted from the Aardvark extension. Adblock Plus 0.7.2.3 or higher is required, browser requirements are the same as for Adblock Plus. This extension is still in the early development stages and some features of the final version are missing.

  • Fixed: object tabs break page layout in some cases (bug 12911)
  • Fixed: object tab size does not adapt to text size (e.g. when zooming)
  • Made sure that dynamic properties of object tabs cannot be overridden by web page’s styles
  • SeaMonkey 1.1: middle-clicking an item in the sidebar wouldn’t open it in a new tab

Changes

  • Added Persian translation
  • Made it harder for web sites to tamper with object tabs
  • Whitelisting options (“Disable Adblock Plus on …”) no longer disabled when Preferences dialog is open
  • Added methods addPatterns() and removePatterns() to the public nsIAdblockPlus interface (to be used from other extensions)
