Adblock Plus and (a little) more
Legal implications of security research · 2007-04-08 16:23 by Wladimir Palant
The Chilling Effect is quite interesting read (yes, the article is a few months old but I only discovered it now). It shows nicely how security research on web applications is different from research on software you install on your computer. It also shows why responsible disclosure of vulnerabilities is so rare in this field. I also find it very interesting how it explains that most software is of a low quality.

Wladimir, maybe youve seen this already, but the sheer hubris of Herr Peter Smith is something not trivial. Your extension (NoScript, too) are among top Firefox extensions to avoid, according to ComputerWorld. I wonder what the weather is like on his home planet? BTW, I never heard of Nuke Anything Enhanced before I read this article…

I think your add-on is a must for everyone using firefox. it actually is a win-win for the ad sponsor and the reader, because those ads were still being hit by the browser and the user just choose to not showing it on screen, it just make every body happy. keep the good work.

I just wanted to say, that your adblock plugin is not just a MUST – it’s beyond that. I have never enjoyed surfing websites as much as I do now, with all the adsense and banners gone, things are so pretty.
Your plugin isn’t something which should be avoided, it’s something which should be a standard on all web browsers. And for a sidekick – the commercialists gets ruined if enough people begin using this plugin.
And I am doing my best to spread the word through my website, this is just too excellent to miss out on =)
Good work, keep it going and have fun!
