Thanks. The update fixed the S voice problem. Unfortunately, Adblock still conflicts with the legal research app Fastcase, which fails with the message “Socket is closed.” I ddon’t use Fastcase so often that I can’t simply turn off Adblock when I have to, but I still wanted to tell you about the issue. I am on a Galaxy Note 2 with Android 4.1.2.

The latest Chrome for Android Beta has a experimental feature called Data Compression Proxy. While it is using https, ABP cannot block any ad. That is just sad.

Sadly, I didn’t have any issues with 1.1 – but two new ones with 1.1.1:

    1) Icon hiding: While this worked for me in 1.1, now with the new release the icon is only hidden if the phone is connected to a network with the proxy set accordingly. If ABP is waiting for a connection/traffic, the icon still shows up, regardless of the setting to hide the icon. That’s somewhat annoying.

    2) Autoconfiguration: I’m running Android 4.1.2 and ABP 1.1 used to set the proxy automatically. Now with ADP 1.1.1 I have to set everything manually. I know this is going to happen anyway once an update to Android 4.2.2 will come out for my device, but I was surprised that an Adblock Plus update would have the same effect.

    Reply from Andrey Novikov:

Regarding second issue, ABP could not set proxy automatically on Android 4.1.2 because it contains the same restrictions as 4.2.2 does. May be your particular device didn’t contain it but it’s strange.

    Good Day,

    Please Help.

I already have Adblock Plus installed on my Nexus 7, originally loaded from the App store, & later sideloaded it directly from adblockplus.org

Now I have been notified of the new release 1.1.1, BUT when I try to install the update I can NOT do so (after enabling installation from unknown sources aka sideloading)….
..as on the screen where it asks install or cancel, only the cancel button responds while the install button is unresponsive….

I have also downloaded it manually from adblockplus.org, BUT the same happens when I try to install the apk….

How can I resolve this problem?

    Thank You Very Much,
    Roberta

I am having the same problem. (I do have sideloading enabled.) The update for 1.1.1 downloads to my Verizon Galaxy S3, but the install button is unresponsive. Only the cancel button works. Once a day I get a notification that an update is available, but the same thing happens each time.
