We’ve been trying to change the ads industry for years, and it seems that it’s starting to sink in. We just learned that Adblock Plus won an award given out by the editorial board of leading advertising publication MediaPost. This is part of their annual awards program. Thanks, MediaPost!
Each year, MediaPost honors people in and around the ads industry whose work and stature in the business define them as visionaries, innovators and industry leaders.
So to win an award like this really validates our overall mission here at eyeo of putting you, the users, in control of an open web where publishers and content creators can also make money on their hard-earned work. It’s what we’ve been doing ever since we began in 2011, and it’s the driving force behind all the products we make, like Adblock Plus, Adblock Browser, Flattr Plus, etc.). It’s really nice to know that someone gets what we’re about.

You should – they publish great material on advertising and tech, which we’ve been huge fans of for years now. The publication is at the forefront of the ever-changing digital media marketplace. It is the largest and most influential media, marketing and advertising website providing news, blogs, and directories to help a community of more than 150,000 members better plan and buy both traditional and online advertising.
All of the Agency of the Year recipients will be honored at a reception at The Yale Club in New York on January 25. I guess this means we’ll have to buy some fancier clothes ;)
