Adblock Plus and (a little) more

Adblock Browser 2.0 for Android is here · 2020-02-05 12:17 by Kathrin Jennewein

On 05 February 2020, Adblock Plus released Adblock Browser in its 2.0 version for Android. This newest version contains an integrated YouTube modus, which automatically opens all YouTube links in the Adblock Browser. That means: Never again watching annoying ad clips on YouTube, especially those that come right in the middle of the best part of the content.

Adblock Browser 2.0 does not only block ads on Youtube, but of course on all other websites as well. The new version Adblock Browser 2.0 is faster and better than ever, and will also improve Internet security and protect against tracking.

YouTube is, for many internet users, the first stop for online information and entertainment: things from travel blogs for the next vacation, to DIY tutorials, Yoga classes, or even ‘cat videos’. It is almost impossible to think of daily life without it. Of course, the platform wants to achieve maximal profit from such popularity, thus the amount and length of ads that users must see is always rising.

Since November 2018, YouTube shows in every video two ad clips per pause before beginning, and/or during videos. And through that, the number of shown ads has doubled.

Since August of 2018, YouTube has allowed advertisers to decide themselves whether the ads they make are skippable or not. This means that users cannot necessarily just wait five seconds and then skip over the ads like they did before.

The number of completely-playing video ads will continue to rise. With Adblock Browser 2.0, users get back control of their surfing experience and can decide for themselves what they want to see online.

It’s time to give the new Adblock Browser a go and give yourself the peace of mind of a cleaner, more customizable internet experience.

    Hi Adblock Plus

I have been using the adblock plus browser on my android for some time now and after the fantastic update to 2.0 it still shows ads in youtube and some other places.
I fixed it by restarting my phone (one+ 7t) and reinstalling the browser, after that no ads have shown up since.

Thanks for a great app/browser, you guys are doing humanity justice.
    Many thanks
    Chris

After updating to 2.0 the browser no longer starts on Huawei Mediapad T5.

Tried uninstall, restart and reinstall, but no luck.
